Brittany has a cousin named Matt who has been teaching Philosophy at Xavier University in Cincinnati, but is going to Georgetown Law School on a full ride scholarship in the Fall (because they offered him more money than Virginia did). He, Brittany, and I had a fascinating conversation late into the night about philosophy, knowledge, contemplation, spirituality, Hegel, Locke, Rousseau, religion, hedonism, etc. etc. You gotta love anyone who has a 7 month old girl named Eleanor and is excited about Obama. We also discussed whether general and special relativity, or quantum physics, can teach us anything in the realm of philosophy. The boys really missed out.
